This is a surprisingly clear foot shape to have found in broken glass. At first it looked to me like a artistic interpretation of a foot's bones, but the more I stare at it the more I see the shape of a foot imprinted into something and then weathered down over time. The second image is the best example, where it looks like the shape is half submerged and the round shapes are little pools of water. In other images, sometimes the effect is flipped.

Part of the story of this series is that I wasn't sure I was going to showcase these images, but the song Summerfoot by Kate Stephenson came out today as I was going through my microscopic photo collection. Summer solstice was two days ago and this is clearly a foot, so it felt like a sign.

Every photo in this series was shot on an iPhone, and is completely unedited aside from a little cropping to center the viewing area and some edge extensions to resize the images.
